THE HAST EAGLE

This is a document will give you a wide span of hast eagle information.


DESCRIPTION
The hast eagle was the biggest eagle in the world at one point but is now extinct there claws can reach up to 19 cm there. Wingspan can reach up to 3.4 meters. there head was 15 cm Female hast eagles are bigger than the males.  


HABITAT
The hast Eagle did live in the New Zealand shrublands and forest.


DIET
The hast eagle is a carnivore it would eat stuff like the Moa or a seal they had the capability to attack something 3x the size of its self. the hast eagle was the first bird discovered to be a carnivore.      


EXTINCTION
The hast eagle was extinct because a tribe from one of the cook islands found new Zealand and settled there and hunted the hast eagle for food  they eventually made the hast eagle extinct

MAORI LEGEND

It is believed that the Maori thought this bird was legendary and killed it for food. The reason they did this is because Maori thought that this bird would kill them.
