Welcome to this Room 11 blog. Our learning philosophy is to LEARN, CREATE an artifact that shows our learning, and then SHARE it in creative ways, including posting it here on this blog. The purpose of this blog is for students to become accustomed to sharing their learning, recieving feedback, and preparing them for having their very own blog. While students will make every effort to have work corrected and error free it is in fact authentic student work, showing where students are at, and so there are likely to be some mistakes. The aim is to note progress and improvement, and we expect to see this over time.

All Because Of A Waterslide

All because of a waterslide
One day Lucy, Tj and Emily were in a taxi on their way to River Riding Waterpark. Emily was scared with snakes in her stomach, but Tj and Lucy were getting excited to get on “Amazon Waterfall” Waterslide. At last they got to the waterpark! “Let’s go in the pool to get used to the water first?” Said Lucy. “Sure” Replied Tj. “Wait, we can’t go in the pool with our clothes on!” I cried. “You mean… We go in the pool with NO clothes on?” Frowned Tj. “No! We need to go to the changing rooms to get changed first.” So off they went. When they came out they cannonballed into the pool. “HEY YOU!” Yelled someone from the side of the pool. “Me? Her?” Said Lucy. “Yeah, you two,” Said someone in a yellow shirt. It was a lifeguard! “No jumping in the pool please.” “Fine.” Groaned Lucy and Tj. Emily came walking behind Tj and Lucy. “Guys, do you want to go on the waterslide now?” Emily shivered. “Okay. We will go first so you can see how fun it will be!” Smiled Tj. “Good idea, Tj.” So all 3 of the girls walked up the stairs to the waterslide. There was no queue! “YAY!” Cheered the girls in harmony. “Jinks!”  Yelled Emily. “We’re under a roof,” Sighed Lucy “So I guess we can’t jinks right now.” “Aww” Said Emily. It was now time for Tj to go down. “Watch and learn my children, watch and learn.” Laughed Tj, as she pushed herself down the waterslide. We couldn’t see Tj come out of the slide when we watched the camera, so the lifeguard told Lucy to go down and see if she was alright. Off Lucy went, down the slide. Emily waited multiple minutes, but she couldn’t see Lucy come out either! “You go down too, maybe the water stopped half way down” Sighed the lifeguard. “Alright then,” “Here I go!” Emily held her breath as she pushed herself down. “Weeee!” Grinned Emily. Suddenly everything went black and there was a big splash. The sun beamed in Emily’s eyes. “I’m not in the waterpark anymore!” Emily suddenly saw Lucy and Tj walking towards her. “Where are we!!??” She cried, seeming stunned. “Don’t you know? We end up here at the end! That is why it’s called the ‘Amazon Waterfall’!” Smiled Tj and Lucy. “There is a house that I hire for when we come here, so we could stay there until the gates open again.” Said Tj. “Wait. What gates? Do our parents know about this?” Worried Emily. “The gates close when the waterpark closes, and they open as the waterpark opens. The guards watch 2 days a week, and today they’re watching, and tomorrow, but luckily not the next day. We’ll leave in the next 2 days or so. And the parent thing, yeah. Well… Sort of. Not really. They think we’re at a friend’s house.” Said Tj. “Well, let’s go to the house now. It’s a mansion!” This made Emily much happier and confident once she heard it was a mansion! At last they got to the house. It was big and was 3 stories high! “Well, here we are.” Grinned Lucy. They all ran around, shouting ‘I dibs this room!’ until at last they all had a room.
It was getting dark, but the kids wanted to get into the pool. They were still in their togs, and they knew there was no lifeguard’s here so they did dive-bombs and cannonballs in the pool until midnight. For some reason, these weird building tools appeared in their hands, so they started building a huge land above the house! They also added a ladder so they could climb it. “Let’s climb it now!” Yelled Emily from half way up the ladder. “And by climb it, I mean climb it ALL THE WAY UP.” “Okay! Great idea! I can’t wait!” Lucy and Tj responded. Up the climbed, the big white ladder. “Kids! Hello there!” Came a voice from down below. “Come down here, I would like to help you out.” “Okay…” Said the kids as they climbed down the ladder. “Would  you like me to hold these keys for you? I really know how fragile they are.” Smiled the lady, sweetly. “Oh, no thanks, we’re good.” Said Lucy and Tj. But there was Emily, handing the lady the keys to the house. “NOOOOO!!!!” Yelled Tj and Lucy, furiously. The lady ran to the house and used the key to get in, and she locked the door when she got in. “Ugh, thanks Emily. Now where are we going to stay?” Moaned Lucy. “I have an idea.” Grinned Emily. They stayed in the pool until they heard the alarms go off 2 days later, and they saw the waterslide open, and up they climbed. “That was the BEST TRIP EVER!” Screamed all of them.

  1. Hi! Lucy,
I liked the part about feeling like she had "snakes in her stomach" because it is quite expressive. Some people talk about having butterflies - but snakes seems so much more powerful as a way to express really strong feelings.
