Welcome to this Room 11 blog. Our learning philosophy is to LEARN, CREATE an artifact that shows our learning, and then SHARE it in creative ways, including posting it here on this blog. The purpose of this blog is for students to become accustomed to sharing their learning, recieving feedback, and preparing them for having their very own blog. While students will make every effort to have work corrected and error free it is in fact authentic student work, showing where students are at, and so there are likely to be some mistakes. The aim is to note progress and improvement, and we expect to see this over time.

My weekend

This weekend I went wellington zoo with my dad my brother and my step mum, first we went to see the penguins. There was only one penguin in the cage because the other one was sick so he was put in a little area where he will recover from his injury. Then we went to see the otters, the otters were getting feed when we saw the otters, otters eat fish and sea food. Then we went to see a wild pig called the Kane Kane it was very cute. then we saw the monkeys, we saw some little monkeys who were really cute. After we saw the spider monkeys and they were a little bit bigger. Then we saw the pelican it was huge. Then we saw some cheetahs and they were amazing. Then we saw lots of cute baby and adult meerkats and they were so cute. Then we saw two huge porkypinns. Then we saw two huge lions. and there was this big place where you could see the bottom of the lions cage and then a lion came right up to the glass and when we put our hands on the glass the lion started scratching on the glass it was awesome. Then we went to see the giraffes they had really long black tongues it was cool. Then we went to the ostrich's and the dears. Then we saw the baboons and the and kangaroos .the baboons but was was bright pink it was funny. Then we saw the tiger but he didn't come out witch a bummer, after that it was done and we went into the gift shop and I bought a pencil with a meerkat on the top you might see me with it at school then we went to see my Nana she had just come back from Fiji. 1. Hi! Jemma,
You sure had a great weekend. I will look forward to seeing your new pencil. There are two tricky words in your story which are homophones - words that sound the same but which are spelt differently from each other.
They are deer /dare/dear and which /witch.
Other ones such as sore/saw and sea / see can be found on www.bifroest.demon.co.uk/misc/homophones-list.html My suggestion for your next story is to check and fix any homophones you use. - Mr C
